People may be surprised to find themselves the main focus of AIQ Synertial. As motion capture specialists, we are a tech company, but it is people, and what they need drives our work.
When we launched the G6 range last year, it was the result of years of r&d. We spent a lot of time listening to people so that we could really understand their priorities, requirements and concerns. We have found that more than ever, people's focus is on improving their processes.
Mocap, everyone wants to shorten the session - more efficient, more economical and therefore more productive. For example, an animation studio should make sure it is competitive even at the top of the game in terms of the technology chosen.
With a happy accident, the G6 glove was developed to be one size. This means that customers only buy one pair instead of a multiple for each MoCAP actor's hand size.
In fact, AIQ's Synertial was not trying to develop a single solution for everyone. During experiments with optical solutions, we discovered that we could not only create imu-based hybrid systems that take advantage of the best that an optical system has to offer, but also take advantage of them.
The nature of the equipment used to develop universal solutions.

First, the G6 range incorporates elastic cables integrated with the product fabric. And because it is a "second skin" fabric, gloves and suits are light, comfortable and wearable, while hugging the wearer's body. The products evolved around the specific technologies and materials that we already use.
As the chief technical officer of AIQ Synertial, I really had to raise the game to develop the G6 range.
I've been a PC retreat since the mid-1980s. I was lucky to be apprenticed with a mechanical genius who made amazing prototypes cheaply-and quickly, rather than a formal school-based learning. He taught me not only to be bold and creative, but also to be systematic.
From the opportunity to map clever new inventions (using drawings and diagrams like Da Vinci). The truth is, this was hell for me to work with, but it was a tremendous education. For example, I learned to build an electronic goniometer from scratch. Add PC application to his master imagineering
Creating a digital goniometer led to the birth of the exoskeletal MoCAP.
I started the difficult way, and this foundation laid the foundation of both my mechanical know-how and the ability to imagine and innovate.
To develop the G6 glove, a thorough understanding of the optical system was necessary. Capture session and data sequence and work in processing, positive and challenges. Previously, you had to adapt the process to your own product, and combining optical process and hardware was a real learning curve, but I learned how to make it seamless.
Integrate your own operations into optical MOCAP volumes.
Now that you know how to capture an optical system, the AIQ Synertial doesn't design anything that doesn't fit the optical protocol. Since we are really familiar with how we work with them, we estimate that future product development will take half the time of G6 development -
With a recent glove integration with Optitrack Motive software. In terms of both innovation and business, it is very satisfying for me to reflect that this process allows us to improve our own working processes and create products that are really suitable for the purpose.
I'm happy with the ease of use of the G6 gloves. We have observed many actors wearing MoCap gloves and being excited and energized by wearable technology, but they quickly gain weight and hinder progress.
Wearers forget to turn on the G6 (wear it on the back) because not only is the G6 very comfortable, but the heavy power and processing are separated from the glove. This means that the user's fingers are completely unobstructed. The glove handling system is isolated from the glove itself, so you don't feel like you're in a MOCAP session. Hands and fingers move freely naturally and make fine detailed gestures.
One of my current projects is the development of documents and videos that guide G6 customers through usage, especially Gloves's other unique features. All other MOCAP gloves are fully integrated. If one component fails to function optimally or requires adjustments, the entire system is affected. However, G6 users can change their electronics from one glove to another. This innovative property not only adds significantly to its functionality, but also gives people confidence in the product and its ease of use.
I have been working with MoCap for 27 years and sometimes they ask me what I will do with the benefit of hindmind.
Of course, there are always challenges. For example, r&d-unated's background means that as a company, we want to push to make the best product possible, while manufacturers need to rein in their vision and confirm what we've done. I do not know how to do this, but I do not know what to do. The G6 range was a direct result of the integration of the early prototypes that became the MOCAP product range. Our MO is incorporating what we have learned and refining our approach to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Therefore, the G6 range, including the glove, represents the culmination of technological advancements as well as the feedback and insights gathered from our clients. We want to give our users tools to help them stay competitive and better in their field. The synergy of aiq is more than just a thing.
The technology we create - but the ability to continually adapt and evolve to support the people who use it.
